Meet The Team

John was Managing Director of King & Company before founding ATF back in 2001.  

He was our MD until 2021 when he handed over the reins to Marc.

Today, John is usually in the office by 6.30 every morning and concentrates on the architectural ironmongery side of the business as well as maintaining our relationships with suppliers in the Far East.

John still runs most mornings, albeit at a slightly more gentile pace than in years gone by.

Peter joined ATF in 2019 as our main delivery driver.

He had previously spent most of his working life under ground at the Cleveland Potash Mine.

Peter is very well known on the Northern Soul scene and travels across the country to perform. Much to the distress of most customers he visits, he is also something of a joke teller and very much one of life’s characters!

Cheryl joined ATF in 2017 as Personal Assistant a role that has since expanded to include support for the Board of Directors.

She manages the day-to-day running of the accounts and is well known to both our customers and suppliers. Cheryl is also renowned for keeping the team organised and running smoothly.

Outside of work, Cheryl can usually be found walking and going on little adventures with her new puppy

Marc joined ATF in 2006 as a trainee, beginning his career in the warehouse before moving to sales and then Sales Director.  He was appointed Managing Director in 2021.

He has great knowledge of our products and remains very customer focused in his approach.  He often travels overseas to visit our manufacturers but can equally be found serving on our trade counter at 7am every morning.

Outside of work, he is a keen runner as well as following football and spends much of his spare time of the side line while his two boys play for their local teams.

Robson joined ATF in the summer of 2020 and quickly got a grip of our warehouses.

He has recently moved into our sales office and is studying for his Guild of Architectural Ironmongery qualifications.

Robson loves to socialise as well as going on regular holidays. He has become a very popular and accomplished member of the team.

Kieran joined the company in late 2019 as a trainee and today is our buyer under the guidance of Kevin.

Kieran loves to go sea fishing and on cold nights is often stood on the Yorkshire coast. He also loves his football and plays in a local 5 a side team. He was instrumental in setting up the ATF in house gym.

Dan joined ATF in 2016 having previously worked in the power tool and hardware industries.  Today, he not only manages our ranges of hand and power tools, but he is also active on the road visiting our customers.

Dan is a keen supporter of Liverpool Football Club and in his spare time he coaches his daughter’s local football team.  He is one of ATF’s characters.

Stewart joined ATF in late 2024, having been persuaded out of retirement.  Whilst new to ATF, he was a very familiar face to Kevin, Andy and John, having been Financial Director at King & Company throughout the 1990s.

Stewart can be found in the office usually for two days every week  and has enjoyed re-connecting with his old colleagues.

Tom spent a day at ATF to help with some painting in 2012 and never left.  He is popular and well known to our customers, spending much of his time either behind the trade counter or managing our same day delivery service.

In his spare time, Tom enjoys walking on the North York Moors and arranges the ATF’s regular walking expeditions.  He loves to travel and has visited our suppliers in India.

Emily began her career back in 2018 as a trainee in our marketing department and rapidly rose to become our Marketing Director in 2024.

She is hugely popular with customers, suppliers and her colleagues and has put ATF on the map with her social media and design skills, as well as growing ATF Live into the great event it is today.

Emily loves to travel and she has become well known to many of our Far Eastern suppliers. She is a member of the ATF Padel team as well as being an accomplished ice skater and sky diver.

Andy joined the ATF team back in 2002, just a few months after the business was opened.  Previously, Andy had worked with John, Kevin and Stewart at King & Company, starting his career there as a trainee in the late 1980s.

Andy is a very familiar face behind our trade counter as well as looking after many of our architectural ironmongery projects.  He is an early riser and is usually behind his desk at 5.15 most mornings.

Kevin was one of the founding Directors of ATF back in 2001, having previously been manager of the King & Company branch in Middlesbrough.

Kevin is our ‘Specials Buyer’ and has a close relationship with the NHS, who use his skills to source the more obscure of products.  He also looks after the administration side of the business.

Outside of work, he enjoys a busy life looking after his grand children while his son, Robson, is also a member of the ATF team.

Ted has been a familiar, friendly face at ATF since 2002, when he joined the company as Financial Director.  He retired from that role in 2024 but remains our Company Secretary and still pops in on most days.

Ted is a keen ‘twitcher’ and can often be found at the South Gare or Saltholme.  He is also a life long supporter of Middlesbrough Football Club.

Ted’s friendly, laid back manner has been appreciated by his colleagues and customers over the years and nowadays, whenever his visits the company, he is always warmly greeted by all.
